GLENMORE LODGE 5 STAR COURSE - Apr 08 April was a busy month however I did manage to squeeze in some 5* Inland paddle training with Glenmore Lodge. Shaun Roberts lead the course which saw us work the River Findhorn. Rerunning the rapid to improving lines and catching eddies cleanly was the aim of the game at Dulsie Bridge on Day 1, with day two taking us to the Lower Findhorn for some excellent grade 4 plus paddling down Triple Steps and Corkscrew rapids. Heres to the assessment in November 08. %205%20star.jpg)

BUISNESS AS USUAL - Apr 08
As of 1st April, Donald will be taking up post at Inverness Leisure as Operations Manager. Donald is looking forward to the challenges of this new post however it does mean that some of the HLT activities will cease. These activities include Swim Clinics and Personal Fitness Training, mainly due to a conflict of interests with Inverness Leisure as well as not being able to commit to weekly sessions. Don't worry though as we will help to find other instructors to enable clients to continue learning and developing.

OUTWARD BOUND - Mar 08 February/March saw the start of the outdoor activities season kick off as my services as a Freelance Watersports Instructor was required. Loch Eil is a picture perfect location (on a nice day), with Ben Nevis as a back drop it makes a stunning photo opportunity and a great location to work outside. See pictures |
PRIVATE LEISURE CLUBS GET ALL TRAINED UP - Feb 08 During February a number of local private leisure clubs requalified as lifesavers. Staff from Otium Leisure Club, Palace Hotel Leisure Club and the Golfview Hotel Leisure Club all attended two days of training and passed an
external assessment through the Royal Lifesaving Society. |
CAITHNESS SPORTS COACHES GO UKCC - Jan 08 Various sports coaches from across Caithness decended on Wick in January to attend a HSE Refresher First Aid
Course. This two day course was delivered to help coaches in the area meet the new coaching criteria introduced by the United Kingdom Coaching Certificate. |
WATER LOGGED - Nov 07 Swimming tuition reached an all time high in November as we reached maximum capacity and saw the creation of a waiting list. With over 21 clients/10.5hrs 1-2-1 swim clinics, the feeling of being water logged over the weekend is certainly true. |
